View Larger I’m having a crappy day and the only thing getting me though it is knowing I get to play with happy Gunther tonight
Here is the new addition! This is Gunther Lloyd Haberkern, the Doberman. Kenny and I rescued him from the Bakersfield animal shelter this week. He was found underneath a car with a gash down his neck in the middle of the Mojave desert by Officer Ashley Lloyd, hence his middle name. He is an absolute goober! Very true to the breed. He is getting along with Schafer, our German Shepherd, and he is scared of our 2 cats (among many other things)! He is coming out of his shell more and more! I look forward to sharing more of him! We love him already.

Joan Jett & Paul Westerberg - Let’s Do It (Let’s Fall In Love)
I first saw Tank Girl when I was in elementary school and loved it. The only problem was… I had no idea what the movie was called since I saw it on TV and didn’t see the title card. I went years without finding it, thinking my only hope was to randomly stumble upon it and recognize the few plot elements I was able to remember. Eventually I found the movie by Googling something like “crazy girls and kangaroo army”. Thankfully the results included Tank Girl and not something else a lot more disturbing involving girls and kangaroos and an army.
The movie is great and you should definitely check it out when you get a chance and if crazy girls kicking ass in the desert isn’t your thing, the movie has a pretty awesome soundtrack to go with it. You all have a great week and don’t play with danger balls if you don’t know how to use them.

Bug girl! I love your blog! This is my first time posting something and I thought this insane looking dragonfly would be a good first shot at this. Any info on this guy? I live in Hermosa Beach CA. (beaches of Los Angeles) and we do have dragonflys here from time to time, but in all my life I’ve never seen one with this color. Hope you like it. Enjoy!”-jdsoutdoordesigns
Hi! I’m in Los Angeles, as well. I think your beautiful dragonfly is a Flame Skimmer. They look like they’ve been spray painted. It is incredible that a color like this exists in nature.
